There are separate sitemaps for all video objects, but the news sitemap only contains articles, not standalone videos. The only way to have a video included in the news sitemap is to publish it as part of an article. Standalone videos will not appear. However, that doesn't mean your video doesn't exist on Tempest, just that the standalone video is not on the news sitemap. Currently, there's no existing setting that can address this.
Why Is It Important to Have Video on Your Sitemap?
Sitemaps help search engines and spiders discover the pages on your website. (A web crawler, or spider, is a type of bot that's typically operated by search engines like Google and Bing. Their purpose is to index the content of websites all across the Internet so that those websites can appear in search engine results). These sitemaps give search engines a website’s URLs and offer data a complete map of all pages on a site. This helps search engines prioritize pages that they will crawl. An XML sitemap is a good way for a search engine to build its queue of the pages it wants to serve. Including videos in your sitemap helps the search engine understand where your video lives on the site, increasing the potential that it will rank higher in search results.
