Automatic Hyperlinking

Automatic Links can be configured by Site Admins. Automatic Links are configured in Tempest on a per-site basis. To set up automatic links on a site, go to “Automatic Links” on the main Tempest Menu:

This will open the Automatic Links configuration page. From here you can see all of the current keyword and URL pairs that are configured on that site.

Why Use This?

Automatic linking can increase the number of backlinks and interlinks on and to your site in a fraction of the time it would normally take. Automatic links help increase your pages/session and can help to provide more attention to specific pages that you want users to visit more frequently.

Note that only 50 links can be viewed at once, so if a site has more than 50 links the list is paginated with up to 50 links per page and these pages can be navigated through via the arrow buttons in the top right corner above the list. It’s also possible to search for a keyword using the search field at the top of the page.

To create a new keyword/URL pair, click the “+ Create Automatic Link” button in the top right corner. This will open the link creation modal:

To complete the process, add a keyword and a target URL (absolute URL) for the keyword to link to and click “Create.”

To delete an Automatic Link, click the “trash can” icon to the right of the link in the list.

Note that it’s not possible to edit an existing link, so to update the destination for a particular keyword, it’s necessary to first delete the existing link for that keyword and then create a new link with the same keyword and a new destination URL.
